Kimberly Runs To Wisconsin Division 2 Championship


Kimberly won its first-ever Wisconsin high school football championship when it beat DeForest 20-7 Friday in the Division 2 title game.

The Papermakers were led by senior running back Michael Sewell, who picked-up 200 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, Kimberly stopped DeForest's big back Tylur Lengfeld, who entered the game having carried the ball an amazing 345 times this year for nearly 2,000 yards. Lengfeld was held to just 95-yards on 30 tries.

Wisconsin Lutheran Returns To Top Spot in Division 3


For the third time in the last four years Wisconsin Lutheran finds itself taking home the championship hardware from Camp Randall Stadium.

Wisconsin Lutheran (13-1) beat New London 49-6 on Friday to capture the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 3 high school football championship. The Vikings routed the Bulldogs (12-2) with a strong rushing attack led by running back Chris Echols, who picked-up 213 yards and two touchdowns.

West Salem Sets Plenty of Records In Winning First Wisconsin High School Football Championship


West Salem's offense was clicking on all cylinders Thursday as the Panthers crushed Kettle Moraine Lutheran 52-14 for the WIAA Division 4 title.

Along the way, West Salem set three Division 4 title game records...most points in the second quarter (24), most passing yards (292) and most touchdown passes (4). The Panthers also tied the all-time scoring record with 52 points.

Senior quarterback Dan Schneider finished the game 14-for-17 and the four touchdowns. His top receiver was Jacob Welch, who caught five balls for 122 yards.

La Crosse Aquinas Wins First Wisconsin High School Football Championship


La Crosse Aquinas beat Kewaunee 27-0 Thursday to win the Wisconsin Division 5 high school football championship. It was the Blugolds for high school football championship and relegated Kewaunee (13-1) to its second straight runner-up finish.

La Crosse Aquinas' (12-2) defense dominated the Indians, stopping them twice in the first half from inside its own 10. Kewaunee entered the game having one its playoff games by an average of 36.5 points.

Stratford Wins Record 5th Straight Wisconsin High School Football Championship


Stratford (14-0)became the first Wisconsin high school to win five straight state high school football championships Thursday when the Tigers beat Iola-Scandinavia (13-1) 28-7 on Thursday for the Division 6 title.

Stratford won the battle of unbeatens behind running back Chris Olson, who carried the ball 31 times for 161 yards and three touchdowns.

Eleva-Strum Wins Wisconsin Division 7 State Title


Eleva-Strum won Wisconsin's Division 7 high school football championship beating Southwestern 41-6 Thursday at Camp Randall Stadium.

Eleva-Strum (14-0) was the model of consistency throughout the 2007 season outscoring opponents by an average of 38 points (43-5) a game. Southwestern (9-5) took the early lead and held a 6-0 lead midway through the second quarter.

Wisconsin State Championship Games Preview


Homestead is back to defend it's 2006 Wisconsin Division 1 high school football championship. Homestead will once again take-on Arrowhead, the team it beat 35-0 last year.

The only other team back to defend it's title is Stratford in Division 6. 2006 runner-ups Elva-Strum in Division 7 and Kewaunee in Division 5 are making a return trip to Madison trying to bring home gold instead of silver.

In Division 3, Wisconsin Luther (12-1) will play New London (12-1) for the title. For a preview of that game that will be played Friday at 10 A.M. at Wisconsin's Camp Randall Stadium, click here.

Homestead Returns To Defend Its Wisconsin Division 1 High School Football Title


Homestead will be back in Camp Randall Stadium next Friday to defend its 2006 Wisconsin Division 1 high school football championship. The Highlanders will again play Arrowhead for the title.

Saturday Homestead beat Stevens Point 22-13, which now means that the Highlands have a 25-game win streak against Wisconsin teams.

Wisconsin High School Football Playoffs Reach Semifinal Round


The Wisconsin High School Football Playoffs have reached the semifinal round.

In Division 5 Racine St. Catherine's is looking to make it to its first every state championship game when it plays Aquinas Saturday. Racine St. Catherine's is led by running back Eddie Morelli, who's 39-yards away from 2,000 yards this season. In last week's 35-7 win over Brillon, Morelli rushed for 335-yards.
